President's Message

Welcome to the website of the Northeast Pennsylvania Dental Assisting Society.

The Northeast PA Dental Assisting Society (NEPADAS) is the local component of the Pennsylvania Dental Assistant Association (PDAA), the state chapter of the American Dental Assistant Association (ADAA). We are a group of dedicated dental healthcare professional who officially organized in 2002 to promote dental assisting as a profession.

Membership in the ADAA is open to ALL dental healthcare professions. Yes it is true that the majority of our membership includes "wet glove" clinical assistants however our members also include dental educators and their dental assisting students, front desk personnel and dental office managers, as well as dental sales representatives and dental lab techs. ADAA members also include the military with ALL active duty Army, Air Force and Navy dental techs.

As the local association we address dental issues on the grassroots level. We are the local resource for education and networking. Our members give educational talks to Head Start children and discuss dental assisting careers with high school students. We also donate dental supplies to domestic shelters, nursing homes and active duty military personnel. We are always looking for new ideas for community service projects.

NEPADAS is very active legislatively to promote dental assistants. We are the only local dental assistant association in the state to have our own Legislative Chairperson! She attends PA State Board of Dentistry meetings and has met with PA State legislators to write a bill to add a dental assistant to the State Board of Dentistry.

Our NEPADAS is the largest and most active dental assisting association in Pennsylvania. We always welcome new members and would love to see you at one of our meetings.
